Busy Day!

I had a busy day with my mom yesterday!

First we went to Dillard's and White House Black Market looking for event dresses for me and a MOB dress for my mom. My mom didn't see the dress she had liked at another Dillard's location and wound up not trying anything on because she had already tried on all the dresses that she had liked. I tried on a bunch of dresses in the BCBG section, but my mom didn't realize it was the designer section and was not too keen on the prices.

We ate at the mall then went to White House Black Market. I tried on a bunch of dresses there. I liked a few. I just didn't know if I wanted that many black dresses for my wedding lol. We both liked one dress and I think I'm going to wind up wearing it for my rehearsal dinner. The sales lady also put a few different shoes in the dressing room and I really liked this one pair that reminded us of Carrie shoes (from Sex & the City). My mom was just going to buy the dress but we found out if we added a little bit we would get a bunch off, so my mom added the shoes and I'm supposed to pay her back for them. I still want to go back and get this flower pin to add to the dress. I think I'm going to look really cute for the rehearsal!! Here's pics!

Then we went to my first alterations appointment which like it seems everything with my wedding keeps being wound up very problematic and stressful. It was so easy to find my dress but everything afterwards has been such a pain!! Well my dress shop doesn't do alterations, so I did some research and found what is supposed to be the best person in the area. We went there and she tried a few things and then admitted that she was stumped as to how to bustle my train. She told me to e-mail the company and I did that when I got home yesterday. I'm probably also going to call a few other dress shops that sell it to see if they know how to bustle the train and if they do outside alterations. I think she did a good job with pinning the sleeves - they felt secure yet not too tight.

After this disappointment, we picked up some drinks from McDonald's, had them at my place then went to church. After church we went to Macy's. I found this dress I had been admiring online but was disappointed at first glance. I tried on a bunch of dresses. The dress I had been admiring online actually looked really good on and me and I will likely wear it for my shower. I'm thinking about dressing it up with some pink pearls and heels. Another dress that my mom picked out that I didn't really like wound up looking really good on me. I wasn't completely sold on it, for the only thing left that I could wear it for would be as my going away dress. The dress flattered me, but I just don't know that I would want to take my dress off to put this one on. Also, I would likely have to take my tiara off and wear different shoes and different jewelry. I did not really like this idea. My mom told me she would take my tiara off for me, but I think that is because she really loved the dress. We wound up getting that dress too and the return policy is 90 days. So, I have a while to decide. This is the one for the shower. I couldn't find a picture of the one I'm not sure of.

Overall, it was a productive day. I just wish my bustle wasn't such a problem. Hopefully it will all work out in the end!
