Checks!

So, after I totally vented on my last post, I text messaged FI to ask him if he was excited about the wedding. He said he was excited and that it made him sad when I told the lady at the reception place that I wasn't. I told him that he kept saying that all he was excited about was the honeymoon. He said that that is just his favorite part. He said that his favorite part of cheese cake is the crust, but that doesn't mean he doesn't like and want the rest! So he is excited!! I am just uber sensitive with the wedding coming up!

Saturday was a busy wedding check day.

I met my Mom early in the morning at the Florist. We spoke to him to finalize things. We had to add a few things and he didn't charge us extra. My Mom paid cash so that he wouldn't charge her tax which saved a lot of money. I also gave the florist the extra material from the bridesmaids dresses I ordered so that he could wrap it around their bouquets since the color is so hard to match. He said that the flowers will be very elegant and he seemed excited about it!

We then picked up my Granny and went to the bead shop to pick out the bridesmaids jewelry. This is part of their present. I also got bookmarks from the knot as something they can actually use outside the wedding. I knew the basic idea for what I wanted with the jewelry, but didn't exactly know how to put it together. I chose savorski pearls and added some green beads and silver spacers. It will also have a fleur de lis pendant on the bottom. The green beads are an odd bead because in natural sunlight they look clear and have a slight pink tint to them. The wedding will not be in natural sunlight so we will be good. They might look clear in the pictures, but again that is fine with me. The crystals were so pretty in person. The earrings are a crystal bead then a spacer, then a pearl then a spacer then another crystal on a french hook. They are really pretty! I loved them and hope the finished product will come out as well. I didn't realize how expensive it all would be though. Each necklace and earring set is over $50! and I have 6 bridesmaids! My Granny put the deposit down and offered to pay for it, but I don't really want to let her, we'll see what happens. (My Mom is an only child and I'm one of only two grandchildren so we are spoiled by our Granny who also bought us our Calphalon Stainless pot set and paid for the place where the shower was held and bought 5 place settings of china and gave us money for our honeymoon - I think she has done enough!!)

Then my Mom asked the lady about making a 3 strand pearl bracelet for me. I had really been wanting a 3 strand pearl bracelet with an antique looking broach. I couldn't find one that wasn't uber expensive and/or too big for my tiny wrist. I was just going to borrow a pearl bracelet from my Mom and FMIL and make a pseudo bracelet. Well my Mom never seemed to like that idea. She convinced me to get the bracelet and said she would pay for it. I was stressed because I didn't know what my something borrowed would be. I then thought about my Mom's simple promise ring - a white gold band with a tiny diamond - and asked if I could just borrow that. So, I will have something borrowed.

We then went to TJ Maxx, which I never go to. I don't like stores where things look sad and the store is just dirty. Well, I needed luggage because the wheels on my luggage set my Granny got me for my 8th grade graduation are wearing off. I found Samsonite luggage that was 50% off! So I got two pieces! I also got two cute beach dresses for the honeymoon.

FI really missed me that day! haha

Overall, one of the most productive days so far!
